On 13^th June 2010, the Apex Club of Maleny will be holding the inaugural Maleny Apex “Paws of Thunder” at the Maleny Showgrounds.

Maleny Apex is aiming to create a family-friendly day to bring together the various sections of the Maleny community through the uniting factor of “man’s best friend”.  The day will also help celebrate the contribution of working dogs in Maleny’s farming history.  Proceeds for the day will go directly to Maleny Apex’s continuing campaign to send Maleny’s high-school students to the driver-education course “Road Craft”.  It will also provide an opportunity for other service clubs to raise funds that will also be returned back into our local community.

“Paws of Thunder” will consist of ten amateur dog races and four additional feature events.  The main events will be The Farm Barn Canine Cup and the Solothurn Rural Resort Ute Jumping (please see the attached program).  In addition to the races, there will be an afternoon of live music, food and drink stalls, jumping castle, merchandise and produce stalls and many other activities.

We look forward to seeing you there to help make this inaugural day a great success and to ensure “Paws of Thunder” becomes another of Maleny’s iconic events.
